St. Monica’s Coe Threatens To Quit TTAG; Over Miss ASHBA Brouhaha.

Following the recently held Women empowerment programme (WBP) by ASHBA ( Ashanti and Bring ahafo region)

sector, its closing scenes has seen St Monica’s College of Education (MONICO) threatening to leave the sector.

The WEP was held at the GNAT hall Amakom Kumasi under the theme; bridging the Inequality Gap; The Role of the Female Teacher Trainee.

Out of the 13 colleges in the sector, it has been reported that only 4 colleges sent representatives for the first phase of the WEP.

Upon contacting the presidents from the colleges in this sector, various reasons were raised for the boycott of this programme.

The WEP ended on the fourth day with u beauty pageant show at the CCB auditorium, KNUST.

It was a fun thrilled programme us colleges in the sector were duly represented except one (with its name withheld).

This annual beauty pageant sees 3 contestants from each college representing. Monico presented two contestants with stage numbers 2 and 20. There were 21 contestants in all.

The night was colourful as the event planner, stage lightening and MC’s were great.

After the first session which was the catwalk and talent display, the second session was when speeches were read by contestant number 2 and 20 from MONICO. They were crowned miss catwalk and miss eloquent respectively.

Meanwhile, what caused the agitations was when a contestant during her speech session could not answer questions based on her speech after contestant number 20 answered 3 questions correctly and contestant number 2 answered a question correctly.

The dark side of our colourful evening

The dark side of our colourful evening began when a contestant who could not answer a question on her speech was moved to the final round.

At this session, all 5 remaining ladies were asked a general knowledge question.

The sector’s crowned 2nd runner up failed her questions; She could not explain the meaning of the colours in the Ghana flag. She was brought back on stage with another participant for a tie to be broken and she again could not state TTAG’s motto.

The second and first runner ups were crowned and the MC asked who the winner was. The audience shouted contestant number 2 until our hearts were broken into pieces when number 9 was crowned the winner. The very same contestant who could not answer a question based on her speech. The pageant ended but MONICO seeks a new lover as we know they claim to have been stabbed in the back by their own.

These questions remain unanswered in the minds of Monicans .. WHETHER  THEY WERE CHEATED BECAUSE THEY BOYCOTTED THE WEP? WERE THE 3 JUDGES BRIBED? WHY SHOULD THE SECTOR’S PATRON BE MADE A JUDGE?
